Chez Panisse chef says there's nothing funny about pizza
Inside Scoop: In the rough and tumble Oakland Hills, "Chez Panisse Cafe veteran chef and produce buyer Russell Moore has taken over the former Country Home Furniture store to open Camino (3917 Grand Ave.) in about a year."
Also, the oven will be a towering stone inferno whose flames will cook lamb, fish and stews and also avenge Rusell Moore's passionate hatred of pizza, a type of food he is totally over because he's not jealous of Pizzaiolo even though it was started by his apprentice and they light their stoves with hundred dollar bills.

Oh, come on. Who isn't over pizza at this point?
Also, chowder?
I'm over pizza, but only because I just polished off two slices!
Flora food sounds a little mishmashy. But I did have a brilliant chowder at Ad Hoc recently, it can be as artful as any other food. How it fits into their concept, I have no idea. They're really pushing the drinks angle at Flora.
Way to brag about your fancy dining adventures!
It isn't so much that I don't like chowder - I've had some wonderful chowders (although I have not yet had the pleasure of dining at Ad Hoc), it just seems like a bizarre thing to include on a list 4 things you're going to be serving, the rest of which are much more, um, normal.
Heh, well I agree the chowder was more than a little weird in this context. The whole list was a little weird.
As for my pizza, it was "just" a pie from Gioia, so it wasn't to schmancy. But it was extremely good!
I confess the gourmet, sit-down pizza thing has gotten quite common...
